Sea cruises and dolphin watching
A number of marine mammals live at the mouth of the Shannon. Many boats offer sea trips to the areas where dolphins meet at the opening of Carrigaholt or Kilrush or even around the mystical islands of Aran. It is also possible to find them around the monastic island of Inis Cealtra or Scattery Island.
