Its aim :

The general aim is to develop the production and consumption of nautical products in the Atlantic Area regions of Portugal, Spain, Great-Britain, Ireland and France within an interregional - network.
The aim is more particularly to reinforce the tourist economy and to answer the needs of the local population.
A full range of nautical products will be implemented along with a brand and a trade mark « Nautisme Espace Atlantique ». This range of products will present a common standard of quality and some products specific to the different regions. The creation and marketing of this range of products will involve many actions such as the setting up or the expansion of businesses and supporting infrastructures, the training of the managerial staff, the promotion of nautical products etc. These actions will be implemented in coordination between the regions which will utilise their own regional organizations to develop the project.

The first stage implementation will take place from November 2004 to the end of October 2007 in the partner regions and areas.
During this period, contacts and partnerships will be developed with other regions from the Atlantic Area. The aim being to extend the interregional network during or at the end of this initial stage.
